  Green grass, uncrowded beach and sparkling water, not too shabby  When we first started, the beach was almost entirely covered in kelp. Sometimes 2 or 3 feet deep  The kelp thinned out but other things had drifted onto the beach  Over the course of the trip we ran into several nearly tame deer. We came with 10 feet of two   During high tide, rounding the headlands was difficult. The rocks could be slippery from seaweed and water   We climbed over one headland with the help of a rope   The view at the top was worth the rocky scramble  This small sandy cove was a sharp contrast with the beach on the southern side of the headland which had more kelp and a gravelly consistency  If you look carefully, you can see at the right a small hole through the rock, about level with Ali's head in the shadows
