  The Pumice Dessert just west of Crater Lake. The pumice is so nutrient poor that it has taken 7,000 years for those few trees to grow. There is plenty of water.  She can lift giant rocks with two hands! (while her husband flexes)  Cedar and pretty Crater Lake.  Crater Lake, looking south I believe.   That little island in the water is called the Phantom Ship. (Ali took this picture)   Cedar's a very cooperative photographic subject.  "Ok, fine, I'll smile."  Looking West Northwest.  The fog and giant trees in Redwood National Park.
